Summer has officially arrived! This means the sun kissing your skin, bikini bodied and toes in the sand. What better way to enjoy a summer day than with a refreshing, fruit smoothie!
I have never met a fruit I didn’t like. Wait, I take that back. I tried durian once and it was straight up awful…but that’s a whole different subject. Back to fruit. I absolutely love all fruit. One of my favorite things to make with fruit is smoothies. Today, I am going to share with you a healthy, quick and simple Banana Berry Smoothie recipe.
Smoothies are my go-to summer staple. I like them for breakfast, as a quick-lunch or when I’m in a hurry and on the go. The perfect go-to food to void fast food. Let’s be honest with ourselves, we are NOT getting a bikini body eating fast food every day!!!
Banana Berry Smoothie Recipe
This recipe will make 1 large glass or 2 small glasses
- 1 cup frozen berries (I use Wyman’s Frozen Fruit)
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 banana (optional, if your bag contains bananas, but I like that extra punch of banana taste)
- 1 scoop protein powder (optional, I use Shakeology)
- Blend all ingredients in a blender until completely mixed.
I like to use frozen fruit because I love my smoothies ice-cold. When you use frozen fruit, it eliminates the need for ice which will only water down your smoothie anyway. One thing I love about smoothies is that they are fairly inexpensive to make. Yes, you read that correctly. INEXPENSIVE. A big bag of fruit cost you around $10 and you can make MANY smoothies with just one bag which equals MANY MEALS.
I like Wyman’s of Maine frozen fruit because it’s all natural, no added sugar. All Wyman’s fresh fruit is individually quick frozen and processed within 24 hours of harvest, locking in that fresh fruit flavor. Wyman’s products can be found in the freezer section of a variety of retailers nationwide. For more nutritional information, please visit: www.wymans.com/health-benefits-fruit.
