A few months ago, I decided to become a Beachbody Coach. Why? One of my goals for the year was to start taking better care of my health by losing weight and getting my butt back into shape. To top it off, my BFF Tiffany, told me that when you become a Beachbody Coach, you get a discount! I love a good discount, but more importantly, I honestly really love the Beachbody programs and products. If they didn’t work, I wouldn’t promote them…and you can see from my first experience doing the 21 Day Fix, that it works!
Anyways, speaking of my BFF and Beachbody, today I have Tiffany here telling you about her experience becoming an Insanity Instructor. You guys, I seriously cannot even begin to tell you how proud I am of her. I’ve tried to do Insanity three different times and could never make it past day 4. It’s hard, very hard.
Tiffany here. One of Shelly’s BFF, guest blogging on her blog today.
So I’m a Beachbody Coach and have been for pretty much a year. I basically became a Beachbody Coach for the discount because I’m all about discounts.
Anyways. I’m bored. My husband is deployed and sometimes I just want to do something random. My random thing I did was get certified to teach INSANITY.
INSANITY, you know the workout where Shaun T is basically killing you for an hour?
I did Insanity Max:30 and Focus T25 which is like INSANITY, but diet INSANITY.
How hard could it be? I barely modify, and when I do it’s for like a second. I’m in!
When I got to the training, I immediately had regret. These people coming in were A) in much better shape than I am and B) have been teaching for years. Why did I want to do this? I just wanted the certification so I could be badass. I don’t even look like I knew what INSANITY was. At that present moment, clearly I did not.
So what did the training consist of? Basically 6-8 hours of doing a round on repeat. If you can basically live through one round of the workout you’re good. I did probably about 10-12 rounds so I think I’m pretty God-like. You had to teach it to your classmates (no one told me this) and it was hard. I modified so many times. I’ve never been on a mic before and my voice is naturally high pitched so you know, the struggle was so real. Like at the beginning I was like, “I got this, I can keep up, but by noon I felt a pain like no other. It was in my knee. Now I know what my husband was talking about when he said, “He feels a pain in his knee after long runs”. Now I know and I feel his pain. Every time I moved, I wanted to cry.
It’s truly an experience. I enjoyed every minute of it minus the pain. Oh and to top it off, I got my period during it so yeah. Lunges, burpees, and all that good stuff while your period is here is not awesome. I just wanted to eat a cheeseburger, was basically my mentality going into it. Would I do it again? Probably, because it was awesome and our Instructor Randi was just awesome and really knew her stuff. So motivating and really has a good heart. I kind of love her.
Do I think I’ll get certified in another thing? Probably not because I really didn’t expect this whole INSANITY training, but you never know. PiYo is a real possibility for certification since that’s not as hardcore as INSANITY but I love the results. We’ll see when the hubby gets home and I actually start instructing to see if I want to move forward with it.
As of now I know I need to practice before I host my first real class. I live in Jacksonville and basically just waiting for my friends to get their schedules free so I can make them my guinea pigs. If anyone out there is in Jacksonville, Florida and want to help me help you, holler at your girl!
